Bridging Innovation and System Reform

South-South Collaboration for Health Equity

Overview

Developed as part of Global Health Strategies’ (GHS) work on documenting good practices for South-South Cooperation, supported by the Gates Foundation, India’s Health Blueprint for the Global South is a five-part series of papers focusing on distinct themes: pharmacy, digital health, health systems strengthening, nutrition, and maternal health. Through policies, programmes, and partnerships, India has made significant progress in these areas over the last few decades, improving the health and well-being of its people. These papers draw on desk research and interviews with key stakeholders to examine how these gains were made and how they can offer blueprints other states could adapt.

In partnership with GHS, BMJ Group will host a roundtable inspired by these papers that brings together leading health and policy experts to examine how innovations from India’s healthcare system can be adapted globally. The discussion will focus on the role of technology, public-private collaboration, and targeted innovation in driving health-system reform, particularly in resource-constrained settings. It will also explore the systemic barriers that can shape the adoption and implementation of new approaches.
